


Cold Connections: Riveting and Tab-setting. September 20 from 9:30-5:30
Open up a whole new world of jewelry design and fabrication by learning how to connect metal without soldering! The beauty of riveting (aka "cold connections") is that you do not need a torch or solder to connect metal, and this technique can be easily done at home with minimal tools.
You will learn how to hand make rivets with brass, copper, and bronze wire. Each student will leave with a riveted skinny cuff bracelet and a pair of articulating riveted silver earrings.

- Sunday, Setpember 20 from 9:30-5:30 from 9:30-5:30
- 8 contact hours, ages 12+ located at Silver Peak Jewelry Arts located at 100 E. Cleveland, Lafayette 80026
- # students: 3 minimum, 6 maximum
- Tools are provided
- Materials base kit fee: $40. Payable at time of class to instructor via cash, check, or Venmo
- Prerequisite: Metals 1, Intro to Metalsmithing, Intro to Stacking Rings or equivalent experience. Must have experience safely using in a torch.

About the instructor, Alec Schweiger
Alec has an MFA with an emphasis in Metals and Jewelry from Colorado State University-Fort Collins, and has been teaching metalsmithing at the collegiate level (CSU) since 2019. He received a work study scholarship to the Penland School of Craft to study under Kim Cridler, as well as learning from Navajo Silversmithing masters Allison and Trent Lee. Choose options
