
Drawing on Glass: Graphite Enameling. November 30 from 1:00-5:00
Students will bring their past experiences of doodling in notebooks and sketching with pencil into their jewelry with this intro level enameling class. They will learn how to fuse their designs permanently into glass by cutting the metal, etching the glass, and firing their pieces with the torch and kiln. Come prepared with your favorite things to draw or doodle!
We will cover:
- Selection of type of metal and enamels
- Cleaning metal for application
- How to apply enamels
- Prep for drawing
- Firing graphite on enamel
- Clean-up of metal

- Class is held at Silver Peak Jewelry Arts,100 E. Cleveland St Lafayette 80026
- 4contact hours, ages 14+
- # students: 3 minimum, 6 maximum
- Materials kit fee is $40 and includes metal, enamels, and findings. Chains for pendants are sold for an additional charge
- Each student will work at their own dedicated jeweler's bench. (No need to buy tools!)
- Prerequisite: none though Torch-fired enameling is recommended

Instructor: Denaille (Dee) Moore (They/Them)

Denaille graduated with their BFA in Metals & Jewelry from the University of Wyoming in 2020 and now works as a goldsmith and bench jeweler at a fine jewelry store in Fort Collins. They hope to spread some of the knowledge they have acquired with the rest of their community to make metalsmithing techniques more accessible to artists of all backgrounds.
